Why the member count matters more here than elsewhere
Telegram has no feed, no recommendation algorithm and no discovery surface for channels. Nothing will ever put your channel in front of a stranger. Growth happens one way: someone forwards a post or a link to someone else.
That makes the member count load-bearing in a way it is not on Instagram. When a forwarded link arrives, the recipient sees the channel name, the post, and the subscriber count at the top — and decides in about two seconds. A channel sitting at nine members reads as abandoned and the tab closes. The same channel at a few thousand gets joined.
Buying members does not create the forward. It changes the conversion rate of forwards that are already happening, which is the entire mechanism.
The one setting that blocks delivery entirely

Join requests must be off. If your channel is set to approve new members manually, no automated delivery can work — every single join would need an admin tapping approve. The channel also needs to be public with a t.me link or @channelname. Private invite-link-only channels cannot be reached from outside.
The mismatch that gives it away

Telegram prints a view count under every single post, permanently. A channel with 20,000 members and 200 views per post is telling everyone who scrolls it exactly what happened. That gap is more damaging than a small member count would have been, because a small honest channel reads as new while a large dead one reads as fake.

Telegram periodically removes deleted accounts from member lists, and a channel can shed several percent in a single sweep with no warning. That is normal, and this service does not include a refill to replace it — the service page says so. Members do not read posts. If the channel's problem is that nobody engages with what you post, a larger member count makes that more visible, not less, because the view count sits right underneath.
