What a quotation should include

  • Your business name, contact details and GSTIN if registered
  • The customer’s name and address
  • A quotation number and date, and how long the prices are valid
  • Each item or service with quantity, rate and tax
  • The total, any discount, and payment and delivery terms

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a quotation and an invoice?

A quotation offers a price before the work or sale, usually valid until a date. An invoice asks for payment after the customer has agreed. Send the quotation first, then an invoice with the same items once it is accepted.

Can I add GST to a quotation?

Yes. Choose GST to add rates per item and your GSTIN; for sales within your state the tax is shown as CGST and SGST halves.

How long should a quotation be valid?

Commonly 15 to 30 days, so prices and stock still hold when the customer accepts. The valid-until date is set to 30 days and you can change it.

Is my data stored?

Only in your own browser, so your business details are filled in next time. Nothing is uploaded to Boostlix.
