What a WhatsApp link does

A WhatsApp click-to-chat link (wa.me/your-number) opens a chat with you in one tap, without the customer saving your number first. Add a pre-filled message and they only need to press send. It works on phones (WhatsApp app) and computers (WhatsApp Web or Desktop), for personal and WhatsApp Business numbers.

Where to use it

  • Instagram and Facebook bio, Linktree and email signatures.
  • Your website: copy the button HTML for a floating “Chat on WhatsApp” button.
  • Print: menus, flyers, shop counters and packaging, with the QR code.
  • Ads: as the destination of a click-to-message campaign or a product listing.

Writing a good pre-filled message

Make the first message tell you where the customer came from and what they want, so you can reply quickly. For example: “Hi, I saw your Instagram post about the weekend offer. Is it still available?” Use a different message for each place you share the link and you will know which one brings enquiries.

Number format

WhatsApp links need the full international number: country code then number, digits only, without +, spaces or the leading 0 used for domestic calls. The tool converts what you type: choosing +91 and entering 098765 43210 gives wa.me/919876543210.

Common mistakes

  • Keeping the leading zero

wa.me/0098765… or a number with the domestic 0 opens an error. Use the country code and drop the 0; the tool does this for you.

  • Using a number that is not on WhatsApp

The link opens, but WhatsApp says the number is not registered. Test the link from another phone before printing it.

  • A long, salesy pre-filled message

People edit or abandon long messages. One short, natural sentence gets more chats started.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create a WhatsApp link?

Choose your country code, enter your number and, optionally, a message. The tool builds the wa.me link, for example https://wa.me/919876543210?text=Hi, which opens a chat with you in one tap.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?

Yes. wa.me links work for both personal and WhatsApp Business numbers, on phones and on WhatsApp Web or Desktop.

Can I add a pre-filled message?

Yes. The customer sees it in the message box and can edit it before sending. Use different messages for different places to see where enquiries come from.

How do I add a WhatsApp button to my website?

Copy the button HTML from the tool and paste it before </body> on your site, or into a Custom HTML block in WordPress, Wix or Shopify. It is plain HTML with no script or tracking.

Is my number stored?

No. The link is built in your browser; nothing you type is sent to Boostlix.
