Best AI Clipping Tools in 2026: An Honest Comparison

OpusClip, Vizard, Klap, Submagic and Boostlix Clipper compared on price, free plans and what each is best at, with prices checked on each tool's own pricing page.

For most creators turning podcasts and interviews into shorts, OpusClip is the default pick: a free plan with 60 minutes a month and paid plans from $15 a month. Vizard suits teams that want 4K exports and scheduling, Klap suits multi-language channels (52 languages), and Submagic is a captioning tool for videos that are already short. Boostlix Clipper (which we make) picks the strongest hooks with no prompt needed and explains each one, for clippers and creators posting at volume to TikTok, Shorts and Reels.

We make Boostlix Clipper, which finds the moments worth clipping in a long video and exports them with captions. Free trial, no card needed.

Prices and plans below were checked on each tool's own pricing page on 9 October 2026. They change often, so follow the links before you pay. We make Boostlix Clipper, so read our section with that in mind; we have tried to say plainly when another tool is the better choice.

How to choose

Three questions settle it for most people:

  1. How many hours of video do you process a month? Plans are sold by minutes of uploaded video or by number of clips. Work out your monthly footage first, then compare plans on that, not on the headline price.
  2. Do you need the tool to post for you? OpusClip, Vizard and Klap can publish or schedule straight to social platforms. If you post by hand or hand files to a client, you do not need this.
  3. What language is the speech in? Caption and clip quality depend on transcription. Klap lists 52 languages and OpusClip lists more than 20. Test a real video in your language before paying.

OpusClip

OpusClip is the best-known clipping tool and the safest default. It finds moments in any genre (interviews, vlogs, gaming, sports), reframes them to vertical with subject tracking, adds captions and can publish for you.

  • Free: new accounts get a 7-day trial of the Pro plan with 90 minutes of processing, then a free plan with 60 minutes a month.
  • Paid: Starter $15 a month, Pro $29 a month, Business on request.
  • Choose it if you want the broadest set of features and integrations from one tool.

Vizard

Vizard covers clipping, editing and posting, with 4K export on paid plans.

  • Free: 60 minutes of uploads a month, exports up to 10 minutes long at 720p, with a watermark.
  • Paid: Creator and Business plans; the pricing page shows a 50% discount for yearly billing.
  • Choose it if you need 4K output or a team workspace with scheduled posting.

Klap

Klap turns a long video into shorts, reframes them, captions them and can publish and schedule to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn.

  • Free: one video.
  • Paid: $14, $39 and $94 a month billed yearly, for 100, 300 and 1,000 clips a month.
  • Choose it if your channel is not in English: Klap lists 52 languages for editing and transcription.

Submagic

Submagic is mainly a captioning and editing tool for short videos: animated captions, B-roll, cleaning up audio and removing bad takes. Its plans cap video length (2 minutes on Starter, 5 on Pro, 30 on Business), so it is not built for feeding in a two-hour podcast.

  • Paid: Starter $19 a month ($12 billed yearly), Pro $39 ($23), Business $69 ($41).
  • Choose it if you already have short clips and want them to look polished.

Boostlix Clipper

Clipper is built for getting the most usable clips out of long footage: stream VODs, podcasts, YouTube videos and interviews. You pick TikTok, Shorts or Reels and a length, and it returns up to 30 moments per video with the strongest hooks, no prompt needed. Each one comes with its opening line, a summary and the reasons it could work on its own, so you can decide in seconds which to export. When you need something specific ("funny moments only, no swearing"), add a brief. You then export a vertical clip with captions you can correct word by word.

  • Free trial: 30 minutes of video and 3 clips at 720p with a small watermark, no card needed.
  • Paid: Starter $19 a month for 5 hours of video and 100 clips; Pro $59 a month for 15 hours and 300 clips. Both export at 1080p without a watermark and import from YouTube links.
  • Privacy: source videos are deleted automatically after 3 days and clips after 7.
  • Where it is weaker: no automatic posting or scheduling, no 4K, no B-roll, and it has been built and tested mainly on English speech.
  • Choose it if you clip at volume, for your own channel, a client or a clipping campaign, and want to see why each moment was picked before you spend time exporting it.

Before you pay for any of them

  • Run the same real video through two free plans and compare the moments they pick. The difference is bigger than any feature list suggests.
  • Check whether unused minutes roll over. Some plans expire credits monthly.
  • Read the terms on content rights. You need to own the video or have permission to use it, whichever tool you choose.

Questions this raises

What is the best free AI clipping tool?

OpusClip and Vizard both have free plans with 60 minutes of video a month, with a watermark. Klap lets you make one video free. Boostlix Clipper has a free trial of 30 minutes and 3 clips at 720p with a small watermark, no card needed.

Is there an AI clipper without a watermark for free?

Free plans and trials all come with limits: a watermark on some or all exports, a lower resolution, or only a few minutes or videos a month. For regular watermark-free 1080p exports, expect to need a paid plan.

Which AI clipping tool is cheapest?

By starting price, Klap ($14 a month billed yearly) and OpusClip ($15 a month) are the lowest. What you actually pay depends on how many hours of video you process, so compare the minutes or clips each plan includes against your monthly footage.

Can AI clipping tools work with YouTube links?

Most can import from a link. Only use videos you own or have permission to use; importing someone else's video does not give you the right to repost clips from it.

Do AI clipping tools predict which clip will go viral?

No tool can. Scores such as a virality score or Clip Score are the tool's estimate of how well a moment works on its own. Treat them as a way to review the strongest options first, not as a forecast of views.
