Free AI Clipping Tools With No Watermark in 2026: What Is Actually Free

Which AI clipping tools are really free, which ones watermark your clips, and the honest ways to get clean, watermark-free shorts from a long video without paying, compared plan by plan.

No major AI clipping tool gives you unlimited, watermark-free clips for free. The free plans are trials: OpusClip's free plan includes 60 minutes a month but adds a watermark, Vizard's free plan exports at 720p with a watermark, and Klap and Submagic offer trials rather than free plans. Watermark-free exports start at about $14 to $19 a month. If you need clean clips for nothing, the reliable route is to let a free plan find the moments, then cut those timestamps yourself in a free editor, which carries no watermark.

We make Boostlix Clipper, which finds the moments worth clipping in a long video and exports them with captions. Free trial, no card needed.

"Free" and "no watermark" are the two words people type most often after "AI clipping tool". They rarely come together. Here is what each popular tool actually gives you for free, what the watermark means in practice, and how to get clean clips without paying.

What the free plans actually include

These are the free and entry plans as each tool's own pricing page showed them on 13 October 2026. Prices change, so check the linked page before you buy.

ToolFree planWatermark on free?Cheapest plan without a watermark
OpusClip60 minutes of video a monthYes$15 a month (Starter)
Vizard60 credits a month, uploads up to 60 minutes, 720pYesCreator plan (see its pricing page)
KlapFree trial only, no free plan listedCheck during the trial$14 a month billed yearly (100 clips)
SubmagicFree trial, no card neededCheck during the trial$19 a month ($12 billed yearly), videos up to 2 minutes
Boostlix Clipper7-day trial: 30 minutes of video, 3 clips at 720pYes, a small one$19 a month (Starter: 5 hours, 100 clips, 1080p)

Two patterns stand out. Every tool that clips long videos keeps watermark-free export behind a paid plan, and the free allowance is about an hour of video at most. That is enough to judge whether a tool picks good moments, not enough to run a channel or a clipping side hustle.

Why the free plans all have watermarks

Clipping a long video costs the tool real money every time: transcription, an AI model reading the transcript, face tracking and rendering, all of it for every minute of footage. The watermark is how a free plan pays for itself, through every viewer who sees the tool's name on a clip.

That also explains why "no watermark" and "unlimited" never appear together on a free plan. Anything you find that promises both is usually one of these:

  • A trial that turns into a subscription. Read the billing terms before you enter a card.
  • A modified app (mod APK). These are unofficial copies, often bundled with malware, and accounts using them get banned.
  • A tool that only trims. Plenty of free editors cut and export without a watermark, but they do not find the moments for you.

Does a watermark actually matter?

It depends on where the clip is going.

  • Your own channel: a small watermark is a cosmetic issue. TikTok, YouTube and Instagram have not said they reduce the reach of clips that carry a tool's logo.
  • Paid clipping campaigns: it matters a lot. Many campaigns on Whop and similar marketplaces reject clips with another tool's watermark, and campaign rules often ask for clean 1080p exports. If you clip for money, see how clippers get paid.
  • Clients and brands: a third-party logo on a client's clip looks unprofessional. Budget for a paid plan.

The honest free route: AI finds, you cut

You can get watermark-free clips for nothing by splitting the job in two.

  1. Run your video through a free plan. Use the free minutes on OpusClip, Vizard or the Clipper trial to get the AI's picks. Note each clip's start and end time, not the export.
  2. Cut those timestamps from your original file. Open the full-quality video in a free editor such as CapCut desktop, DaVinci Resolve or the editor on your phone, and trim to the noted times.
  3. Reframe to vertical. Set the project to 9:16 (1080 × 1920) and keep the speaker's face in frame.
  4. Add captions. Most free editors can auto-caption. Read them through, because names and slang are where they go wrong.
  5. Export as MP4. Your own editor adds no watermark, and you keep full quality because you cut from the original rather than a 720p preview.

This takes about 5 to 10 minutes per clip by hand. It is the right trade for a few clips a week. At ten or more clips a day, which is common for campaign clippers, the hours add up and a paid plan usually pays for itself.

When paying makes sense

You postWhat to use
A few clips a week from your own videosA free plan plus your own editor (the route above)
Daily clips for your channelA $14 to $19 a month plan without a watermark
Campaign clips for money, from long streams or podcastsA plan with long-video limits and link import, so you are not uploading multi-hour files
Client work for several channelsA plan with team seats and scheduling

For long streams, also check the longest video each plan accepts, not just the minutes per month. A plan with plenty of minutes is no use if it refuses a 3-hour VOD. Boostlix Clipper's Starter plan takes videos up to 2 hours and Pro up to 4 hours, and both can import just a section of a long Twitch or Kick VOD so you only spend minutes on the part you need.

Watch-outs before you sign up

  • Credits are not minutes. Some tools count credits, and features like AI B-roll or a higher resolution can use extra credits per clip.
  • Free exports may expire. Free plans often delete clips after a few days. Download what you want to keep.
  • Language support varies. If your videos are in Hindi or another language, check the transcription languages before you rely on any tool. Klap lists 52 languages; OpusClip lists more than 20.
  • Read the cancellation terms. Look for "cancel any time" and what happens to your clips when you do.

Questions this raises

Is there a completely free AI clipping tool with no watermark?

Not one that lasts. Free plans from OpusClip and Vizard watermark their exports, and Klap and Submagic offer only trials. Watermark-free exports are part of their paid plans, from about $14 to $19 a month.

Does OpusClip's free plan have a watermark?

Yes. OpusClip's free plan (about 60 minutes of video a month) does not include watermark-free export, and free clips are kept for 3 days. Its Starter plan, at $15 a month, removes it.

Can I remove a watermark from a free AI clip?

Cropping or blurring a watermark usually breaks the tool's terms of use and leaves a visible mark. The cleaner option is to use the free plan only to find the best moments, then cut those timestamps from your original video in a free editor.

Do watermarks hurt reach on TikTok, Reels or Shorts?

Platforms have not said that a tool's watermark lowers reach. Many clipping campaigns, though, reject clips that carry another tool's watermark, so for paid clipping you usually need clean exports.

What is the cheapest AI clipping tool without a watermark?

On the prices listed on 13 October 2026, Klap starts at $14 a month billed yearly and OpusClip Starter at $15 a month. Boostlix Clipper Starter is $19 a month with 5 hours of video and 100 clips.
