Google Meet "Take Notes for Me" (Gemini Notes): Plans, Languages and Where to Find Them
What Google Meet's Gemini note taking does, which plans have it, the 8 supported languages, where the notes are saved, who can turn it on, and what to use when your meeting is in another language or on a free account.
"Take notes for me" in Google Meet uses Gemini to write meeting notes into a Google Doc, saved in the organiser's Google Drive in the "Google Meet" folder and attached to the Calendar event. The organiser needs an eligible Google Workspace edition or Google AI plan. It supports English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, one language per meeting. For other languages (such as Malayalam, Hindi or Tamil), mixed-language meetings or free accounts, use a third-party note taker such as Boostlix Notes.
Google Meet can take notes for you with Gemini, if the meeting organiser's plan includes it and the meeting is in one of its languages. Google's details below are from its help page, checked on 19 October 2026.
What it does
"Take notes for me" writes the main points of the meeting into a Google Doc while it happens. Someone who joins late can see a "summary so far", and after the meeting the organiser gets an email with a link to the notes.

How to turn it on
- In the meeting, click the Take notes with Gemini pencil icon at the top right.
- Click Start taking notes. Participants see that notes are being taken.
- To stop, open the same panel and click Stop taking notes, or end the meeting.
You can also switch it on in advance from the Google Calendar event.
When it is not the right tool
- Your meeting is in another language. Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Arabic and many others are not on the list, and only one language per meeting is supported, so a meeting that mixes Malayalam and English is a poor fit.
- The organiser does not have the plan. If a client organises the meeting on a free account, Gemini notes are not available to you.
- You want action items with owners and due dates. Check whether the notes give you what you act on, not just what was discussed.
Boostlix Notes works in those cases: a bot joins the meeting as a visible guest, transcribes the language actually spoken (each word in its own script), names speakers from Meet, and emails minutes with decisions and action items, in English or Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and others. It records 10 meetings a month free; transcripts and minutes are on Pro. See also Google Meet transcription options.
